While the USCIS might post the necessary documents and application on the internet for everyone to use,
the devil is very much in the details. Supporting documentation is everything and filling in all the pieces
is quite necessary. The USCIS does little or nothing to help applicants anticipate all the holes and pitfalls
but they will reject, delay or complicate an application in a heartbeat if any of the pieces are left out.
Applications can drag on for years in cases that should have been straight forward. Worse yet, knowing which
application is appropriate is not always easy yet critical to success. The USCIS has a tremendous amount of
discretion in their decision s which means that results can often hinge on first impressions and also
drastically vary from office to office. The key to success is knowing the pulse of the system. That is to say,
knowing as much as possible about what each applicant will be facing over the course of each specific application
is vital.
